Tool Development

Making a game is a process of becoming a person who can make a game, but it’s also a process of creating the tools to make that game.

There are a lot of simple repetitive tasks involved in making a game. This is true for game design, which used to be my main focus, and it’s even more so now that I’m doing indie development. Since I was a kid, I’ve been building my own tools in Excel, VBA, and C#. Now Python and JavaScript have joined the party. Rust and Go are watching me from across the line.
